Dermaplaning Aftercare Guide
Dermaplaning Aftercare Guide
After your dermaplaning treatment, your skin will immediately feel smoother and look more radiant. However, to maintain and protect these results, proper aftercare is essential. Here’s a guide to ensure your skin stays healthy and glowing post-treatment:
What You Should Do:
- Avoid Direct Sun Exposure for 3 Days: Your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays after dermaplaning, so minimize sun exposure and always wear protective clothing or a wide-brimmed hat.
- Avoid Extreme Heat for 3 Days: Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts that could cause excessive sweating or irritation.
-
Apply Serums, Moisturizers, and Sunscreen Daily: Use hydrating serums and gentle moisturizers to nourish your skin. Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
- Important: Use mild products that do not contain acids, vitamins (such as Vitamin C), retinol, or chlorine for at least 1 week.
What You Shouldn’t Do:
- Don’t Use Products with Vitamin C, Retinol, or Chlorine for 1 Week: These ingredients can be too harsh for freshly exfoliated skin and may cause irritation.
- Don’t Use Scrubs or Exfoliators for 1 Week: Your skin has already been exfoliated during the dermaplaning session, so avoid any additional exfoliating products or tools that could further irritate your skin.
- Don’t Use Unsanitized Brushes or Tools: To prevent infection or irritation, ensure all your makeup brushes and tools are thoroughly cleaned before using them.
- Don’t Touch or Extract Your Skin: Your skin may be more sensitive post-treatment, and touching it with unclean hands can lead to breakouts. Any minor breakouts that occur usually subside in a few days.
