How to Prepare for Your First Brazilian Wax
- Let the hair grow to about 1/4 inch (about the length of a grain of rice). Do not shave for 2 to 3 weeks beforehand.
- Gently exfoliate the day before, then avoid heavy moisturizer on the day.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and skip caffeine and alcohol right before your visit.
- Many clients find the area more tender just before or during their period, so consider booking another week.
- Tell your esthetician about any skin conditions or medications, especially acne medication.
Brazilian Wax Aftercare
- For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot baths, saunas, swimming, tight clothing, workouts and sun or tanning.
- Do not touch the area with unwashed hands, and skip heavily perfumed products.
- Exfoliate gently after a few days to help prevent ingrown hairs.
